Organic Coagulants
Hychem supplies cationic, organic coagulants in liquid form. Activity concentrations range from 8-70%, with the most common concentrations between 40-50% at various molecular weights explicitly tailored to each customer’s needs.
Inorganic Coagulants
Hychem has a wide range of specialty metal salts and rare earth metals designed for coagulation in solids and phosphorus removal. It can also provide advanced blends that provide optimal performance for helping with key KPIs.
Dispersants
Hychem offers specialty polycarboxylate dispersants that reduce the bulk viscosity of high-solid slurries and maintain the stability of particle dispersion through charge repulsion. Applications include:
- Treatment of residues and liquid effluents
- Pigment suspensions
- Drilling fluids
- Ore-in-Water slurries
- Water-based paints
- High-performance ceramics
Flocculants
Hychem offers anionic, nonionic, and cationic flocculants in three forms:
- Dry Powders: Produced by polymerizing monomers in gel form, then grinding and drying. Key advantage: 100% activity.
- Liquid Emulsions: Created by emulsifying and polymerizing monomers in solvent, then adding a surfactant to make it water dilutable. Key advantages: easy-to-use liquid form and enhanced performance on certain substrates due to molecular structure variations. Hychem also has new fast inversion products that allow better mixing with less shear.
- Liquid Solutions: Produced by polymerizing monomers at low concentration in aqueous solution. Key advantage: simplicity of use.
Scale Inhibitors
Hychem provides antiscalants to prevent inorganic scale formation (CaCO₃, CaSO₄, BaSO₄, etc.) in applications including oil and gas, boilers, cooling towers, and mineral processing. These work through:
- Threshold Inhibition: Interfering with crystal growth at dosages far below stoichiometric amounts
- Dispersion: Preventing particle agglomeration
- Chelation: Complexing inorganic ions stoichiometrically
Heavy Metal Precipitants
Hychem has developed chelating agents specifically formulated to enhance the removal of heavy metals from waste streams through precipitation.
